Wake Technical CC - Fall 2016

The Wake Tech Phi Beta Lambda Tau Beta Chapter has a new executive team of nine influential students from both Main and North campuses. The executive team, with the help of our recruitment coordinators, River Norris and Joshua Evans, increased average membership to thirty-plus students and fifteen-plus professional division members. The team had a great time at the North and Main campus Facts and Snacks events in September meeting new students and attracting new members.

This year, the Tau Beta Chapter has planned and participated in several volunteer events and fundraisers. Four students and two advisers attended Read and Feed, an event that partners elementary school children with volunteer tutors to help with schoolwork and provide them with dinner.

In November, the Tau Beta Chapter members will hold a March of Dimes bracelet sales and donation table as well as make and send Operation Christmas Child boxes through local churches. The team looks forward to the Fall FLDC, SLC 2017, and Anaheim next June.

Wake Technical CC - 2014 Spring

Wake Tech Phi Beta Lambda, Tau Beta Chapter, celebrated the National PBL week along with the chapters around the state and country from Feb 9the through Feb 15th 2014.  Wake Tech PBL members organized an "Each One Reach One Recruitment Drive" at the Wake Tech Main Campus on February 11th.  The Executive member team enthusiastically explained the benefits of becoming a member of the elite business club to the prospective new members of the student body.  The executive team displayed professionalism by dressing up in business suits, undeterred by the extreme winter weather.  During the week, Wake Tech PBL members took time to appreciate and thank the advisers. Members gave a huge Thank You on Face Book, by email and in person. The Executive team also reached out to the professional division members at Wake Technical Community College and their gratitude to the faculty members who mentor the members for the State Leadership Competitions and support Phi Beta Lambda at Wake Technical Community College.  Finally, PBL members teamed up with Wake Tech's Office of Volunteerism and Leadership to serve food to the homeless at the Raleigh Men's Shelter. Giving back was by far the most rewarding part of the week!  All in all, despite the tumultuous weather, Wake Tech had a wonderful, enlightened and informative PBL Week.

Wake Technical CC - Fall 2013

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Tau Beta chapter successfully appointed new office positions on September 17th. Vice President, Historian, Reporter, Advisor, Parliamentary, and Secretary are among these positions. In the following days, Tau Beta hosted a Snacks and Facts recruitment table via Wake Tech Student Government Association on September 25th, and 27th at Wake Technical Community College’s main, and northern campus. A great turn out yielded a handful of new members.  With the help of these new affiliates, and three club meetings, our chapter has organized fundraising activities with March of Dimes in which we hope to promote strong, and healthy baby development during the month of November. In addition, Tau Beta has also made arrangements for Back Pack Buddies Community Service Event at Bond Park on November 2nd.
