Chowan University - Fall 2016

Phi Beta Lambda Celebrating 50 Years at Chowan!

Chowan University's Phi Beta Lambda chapter is celebrating a golden anniversary!  Chowan's chapter was chartered on August 12, 1966 and has remained a solid organization representing the School of Business over the years.

Phi Beta Lambda is a non-profit educational association of post-secondary students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields.  Membership in Phi Beta Lambda provides students opportunities to learn outside the classroom and, in addition, promotes a sense of civic and personal responsibility.  All business majors or students enrolled in a business course are invited to join.

For more information about PBL, contact Patsy Taylor, faculty adviser, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Chowan University - Fall 2013

Chowan University’s PBL Chapter Supports Relay for Life

For more than 20 years, Chowan University’s Mu Zeta Chapter has raised money for various causes with a Halloween fundraiser.  Each year PBL members have taken orders from students, faculty, and staff for Halloween treat bags.  The treat bags are only $1.00 and delivery on campus to designated recipients is provided.  For the past several years, monies from this fundraiser have been designated for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Chowan University hosts the local Relay for Life Hertford-Gates County event on campus each spring, and Phi Beta Lambda is one of many campus organizations who form a team and participate in the event.  Preparation for the spring 2014 Relay for Life is already underway, and members of Chowan’s PBL chapter are actively taking orders and raising money to help make a difference to fund the fight against cancer.
