What are the benefits of being a PBL member?

As a Phi Beta Lambda member you can...

...Gain Leadership Skills

Whether on the regional, state, or national level, the purpose of any leadership conference is to provide worthwhile activities to assist students in leadership development as they prepare to be tomorrow's business leaders. These conferences consist of general sessions, leadership workshops, business meetings, competitive events, officer elections, special-interest sessions, awards banquet, and social activities.

...Acquire Team working Skills

Chapter service projects provide an opportunity within the community for student to work as a team.  Involvement in such projects represents a planned gift of time and/or money made with your chapter to benefit the community.  Service projects can strengthen your organization and planning skills.  As members work together, they become aware of themselves, their responsibilities as citizens, and their roles as future business leaders.  Students will recognize that business plays an important role in meeting the service needs of the community.

...Learn Networking Skills

Working closely with a business is one of the best ways to prepare Phi Beta Lambda members for meaningful jobs after graduation.  The experience gained in dealing with businesspeople to complete civic projects, make presentations before civic and business associations, and hearing professional speakers can be invaluable.  Businesspeople quickly become aware of students' potential as future employees--not to mention the networking opportunities you gain by working with businesses in your local area.

...Earn Individual Membership Awards

Once you have become a member of PBL you have the opportunity to earn many individual local, state, and national membership awards. These awards are earned by completing the requirements. While striving to achieve these awards you will learn leadership skills as well as networking skills which prepares you for the "working-world." Let Phi Beta Lambda help you to set yourself apart from other graduates in today's competitive job market.

Career and Membership Achievement Award

The "Career and Membership Recognition Program" is a national online individual recognition program and requirements are located on the FBLA-PBL web site (www.fbla-pbl.org).  Your chapter members will feel proud wearing the CMAP pins at NLC and state PBL activities! Members may complete requirements for up to three levels of recognition--the Director Level, the Executive Level, and the President level per year. For a preview of the activities for each level and brochures for completing the requirements, see the information provided under Programs.
