09.28.17 State Adviser Update

NCPBL Advisers/Presidents,

1)  Thanks to LRU, Barton, CCCC, and Stanly for hosting Kick-Offs -- and to all the presenters!  Hopefully, those chapters who attended a Kick-Off will complete the remaining five activities to achieve the "Gold Star Chapter" recognition at FLDC.  Details are in the FLDC Guide (10+ members, 5+ PD-F members including an adviser, $35 to the PD-F General Fund, contact info for adv/pres to state historian, & register for FLDC).

2)  Moving right on to the next activity, the FLDC Guide is attached.  We're looking forward to a good conference, especially with National PBL President Kimberly Clark in attendance.  The Guide has the registration, scholarship, and pin design forms.  The NCPBL NON-Trivia Contest Study Guide is attached separately.  Be sure to note the related dates, especially the hotel reservation date.  Please make every effort to have delegates at the conference.  In addition to the value to the chapter, we need to use  the room block so we don't have to pay meeting room costs!!!!!  If you or your chapter would like to lead a workshop, contact Mr. Fann immediately.

3)  October 20 is the all-important date for membership.  State and national membership awards for PBL and Professional Division are based on numbers as of midnight on the 20th.

4)  Speaking of membership, here's the end-of-September ranking:

1 - Central Carolina Community College

2 - Catawba College

4 - Isothermal Community College

5 - Wake Technical Community College

Congratulations to Isothermal for already exceeding their 2016-17 membership.  We're also excited to welcome reactivated chapters at East Carolina University and Western Carolina University!

PD-F Chapter Affiliation

6)  Again, special thanks to all advisers for your willingness to serve and to our chapter presidents for taking on a high-level leadership role.  The state officers, the directors, the PD-F Board, and I are always willing to help in any way we can so don't hesitate to call on us.  We're especially interested in assisting colleges reactivate or charter chapters.  Best wishes for a successful year!
