Appalachian State University - Fall 2013

Phi Beta Lambda off to a great start at Appalachian State University.

For the past two weeks, the Phi Beta Lambda chapter at Appalachian State University has shown commitment to putting PBL’s service goal into action. On Friday, October 4, as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program, eight members, along with their adviser, beautified the Appalachian region by cleaning a street in Boone. That sunny day, members collected 10 bags full of trash and made the country even prettier. Then five days later, on October 9, the chapter conducted a Krispy Kreme fund raiser to help raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes. Members sold 25 dozens of doughnuts. All the proceeds will be donated at the High Country March for Babies where members will walk on November 2. This is just a start; the Appalachian State University PBL chapter is planning to do many more activities to benefit the community this semester.
