Dear Members of the NC Phi Beta Lambda Professional Division,
The NC Chapter has returned from another successful National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN and local chapters are gearing up for another exciting year of fellowship, competitions, and learning opportunities to improve their leadership skills. The NCPBL Foundation, Inc. is excited to play an important role in the development of the members of the state, but we need your help.
The primary purpose of the Foundation is to promote and support the education and financial needs of NCPBL local chapters, its members, and the state chapter. Per the bylaws, the Foundation membership is open to all individuals interesting in promoting and supporting its purpose. All NCPBL Professional Division members are automatically Foundation members.
At a Foundation board meeting last year, we came up with an exciting new project, "Adopt-A-Student". We implemented the project and had good success so we want to continue the project this year. The "Adopt-A-Student" project focuses on raising money for the 2010 Fall Leadership Development Conference and to cover the cost of registration for 200 students. This would help chapters and students offset the cost of FLDC, something we have determined to be a real need in today's economic climate. With your nominal assistance we can help students attend this conference at no cost!
In order for the Foundation to accomplish this, we need sponsors for over 200 students. The cost of adopting a student for the fall conference is $20; as a PD member, please make that donation! If you know a friend or colleague that would support a student, please invite them to donate too! We need everyone's help to make this a success. You can give a student who might not otherwise be able to attend FLDC the chance to have the valuable NCPBL experience. Your $20 will change someone's life and help them understand what is involved in being a business leader in today's world.
John Anderson, NCPBL 2010-2011 State President, says "The Adopt-A-Student Program sponsored by the NCPBL Foundation is important to the members of NCPBL because it make it possible for more members to attend Fall Conference where they will learn the valuable skills essential to becoming better student leaders. The information learned at fall conference can last a lifetime and the more members that attend, the better prepared we will be to not only face the challenges but overcome all of the obstacles preventing us from being successful."
Most PD Members have experienced the networking, leadership opportunities, seminars, and overall good times that occur at our NCPBL conferences. Please consider that it is now your turn to give a student the opportunity to experience this first hand! It is up to us as former student members and PD members to lead the way in producing our future leaders! Please invest $20 and adopt a student today!
Your sponsorship gift of $20 can be in check form payable to "The NCPBL Foundation, Inc." and sent to the address at the bottom of this page. PayPal sponsorship donations are also accepted at www.ncpbl.org/foundation.
Your donation is tax deductible. On behalf of the Foundation, I thank you for the support that you have shown in the past and the support you continue to give. Nothing is impossible when you have the quality of people we have in this organization. I know this project will be a great success! I look forward to seeing you at conference this year and again, thank you for your support of NCPBL.
Sincerely,
Chad Nichols
2010-2011 Foundation President

Our state has been presented with an exciting opportunity to raise money through the Foundation to help support the students of NCPBL in many ways. Paul Fogarty, our National Professional Division President, has generously afforded us this opportunity through his own personal business, Tastefully Simply. Although Mr. Fogarty originally serves as a consultant for New Jersey and Pennsylvania, he has agreed to give NCPBL 30% of his sales from his website sales that come from NC, VA and MD for the month of October and 10% of his website sales for the months of November and December.
Tastefully Simple offers over 60 delicious and easy-to-prepare food and gift items. We are proud to be associated with a company that is highly rated with the Better Business Bureau and promotes the highest standards of business ethics and customer service in the marketplace.

Of course we would like to see individuals place orders, but we also would like to make sure all chapters take full advantage of this opportunity. Not only is this an opportunity for the Foundation to raise money to help the state chapter as a whole, it could be a wonderful way for individual chapters to raise money as well. Each chapter could purchase items from the site, which would give the state the 30% credit for the sale, and then the chapter could raffle the items (in a basket for example) to make money for their individual chapter. Chapter’s could team up and place bulk orders to save on shipping cost. This fundraiser is of great timing for the holiday season and should be a huge aid in your selling strategy. Don’t let this opportunity pass!
It is very important that you place your orders through the proper site link (www.tastefullysimple.com/web/pfogarty) so that the orders are processed through Mr. Fogarty’s site. Our state credit is through his site only. If you chapter should have any questions about the products or the fundraiser, you may contact Mr. Fogarty through his website or any member of the NCPBL Foundation. Good luck with sales!
